black widow: forever red review
Jul. 30th, 2017 10:06 am- im taking ethical stance against the abuse of the “natashka” diminuitive. i’m strictly a “natushka” or “natashenka” person
- nat??? is so mean wtf. like maybe i’ve been reading Too Much fic but she’s really Not Nice and ooc
- ivan is in it too much.
- like,,,,, im p sure he didnt ~run~ the red room? wasn’t that madame b’s job? why is he so important in this?
- like i guess she had Reasons for doing what she did in regards to essentially abandoning ava, but nat’s very snappy and short with ava + alex at the beginning and i can’t help feeling that shes not that kind of person, even under pressure
- forreal as soon as she abandoned this girl i was like, this is the most out of character thing i’ve ever read??
- she keeps repeating that she’s not the “big sister” type? Wrong.
- sure, it was fun foreshadowing w the irony about not being a big sister but no thnks, #notmynat
- ava? not a sympathetic character.
- i get she has issues but as a comic reader and someone who’s heavily invested in nat after watching the movies i feel like the author didn’t spend enough time actually making me like ava as opposed to nat, and jumped straight into making her stubborn and incapable of having a Proper conversation before making stupid decisions
- can i just. when they’re This 👌 👌 Close 👌 👌 to discovering that they have something in common w each other and then ava just???? skips out.
- the author?? trying to make me believe that alexei is nats little brother??? THIS BITCH IS ALMOST A HUNDRED YEARS OLD
- tbh i would’ve believed that he was her son w alexei shostakov more than him being her b r o t h e r
- even like. what’s the age gap meant to be? assuming nat is in her 30s in avengers, alexei is 17. so they’re 13~ish years apart? unrealistic. blocked.
- like,,, i know this book was probably meant to be continuing from movie canon (published in 2015, so do with that what you will) but this shit is so unbelievable im s c r e aming
- the unnecessary overuse of russian is slowly killing alive. we get it. ur a little russian family n u speak russian just write it in english
- also bilingual people? know when they’re speaking a language that they’re not meant to be. u ain’t fooling me
- i do give the author credit tho bc i legit thought ava was gonna die for some reason?? not alexei?? so that was fun i guess
- and i did enjoy the ending, okay, it was pretty okay. i liked ava and nat bonding. i like coulson.
- sue me.
